What is Pivot Point?

Pivot Point is an important way to know the trends in the share market. It is mostly used for intra-day trading. Pivot Point is the average of the previous day's High, Low and Close Price's. Whose formula is below:

Pivot Point (PP) = (Previous High + Previous Low + Previous Close) / 3

According to Pivot Point Trading Strategy, if the share price opens above PP, then that share is likely to be bullish, and if PP is opened below, it is likely to be bearish. According to the calculation of Pivot Point we get different-different Support & Resistance levels. You can enter different Pivot Points by filling the open, high, low and close prices of the previous day in the table given below.

Below are the formula's to get different-different Support & Resistance levels:

Classic Pivot Point Formula:

Pivot Point (PP) = (Previous High + Previous Low + Previous Close) / 3
Resistance Level 1 = (2 * PP) - Previous Low
Resistance Level 2 = PP + (Previous High - Previous Low)
Resistance Level 3 = Previous High + 2 * (PP - Previous Low)
Resistance Level 4 = Resistance Level 3 + (Previous High - Previous Low)

Support Level 1 = (2 * PP) - Previous High
Support Level 2 = PP - (Previous High - Previous Low)
Support Level 3 = Previous Low - 2 * (Previous High - PP)
Support Level 4 = Support Level 3 - (Previous High - Previous Low)

Camarilla Pivot Point Formula:

Resistance Level 4 = (Previous High - Previous Low) * 1.1 / 2 + Previous Close
Resistance Level 3 = (Previous High - Previous Low) * 1.1 / 4 + Previous Close
Resistance Level 2 = (Previous High - Previous Low) * 1.1 / 6 + Previous Close
Resistance Level 1 = (Previous High - Previous Low) * 1.1 / 12 + Previous Close

Support Level 1 = Previous Close - (Previous High - Previous Low) * 1.1 / 12
Support Level 2 = Previous Close - (Previous High - Previous Low) * 1.1 / 6
Support Level 3 = Previous Close - (Previous High - Previous Low) * 1.1 / 4
Support Level 4 = Previous Close - (Previous High - Previous Low) * 1.1 / 2

Denmark Pivot Point Formula:

Pivot Point (PP) = (Previous High + Previous Low + Previous Close) / 3
Resistance Level 1 = (PP * 2) - Previous Low
Resistance Level 2 = PP + (Previous High - Previous Low)

Support Level 2 = PP - (Previous High - Previous Low)
Support Level 1 = (PP * 2) - Previous High

Fibonacci Pivot Point Formula:

Resistance Level 3 = PP + (1 * (Previous High - Previous Low))
Resistance Level 2 = PP + (.6182 * (Previous High - Previous Low))
Resistance Level 1 = PP + (.382 * (Previous High - Previous Low))

Support Level 1 = PP - (.382 * (Previous High - Previous Low))
Support Level 2 = PP - (.6182 * (Previous High - Previous Low))
Support Level 3 = PP - (1 * (Previous High - Previous Low))
